Our goal is to "GROW the Writer"! We aim to do this by establishing and building upon a foundation of good writing traits, using supportive curricula at home, and providing feedback on the students' writing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it expected that my student complete their weekly assignments?

In 7th-12th grades, weekly assignments are expected to be completed and turned in to the co-op teacher during class. Our writing coaches work diligently to give feedback on all assignments during the co-op day with the aim to have the assignments returned to the families by the end of the day.

In 1st-6th grade, in keeping with our Educational Responsibilities, the co-op teacher gives suggested activities weekly to allow the student to work with their home-teacher in continuing the learning at home. These activities are not required, but highly encouraged.

Will the co-op teacher assign my student a grade on their writing assignment?

In keeping with our Educational Responsibilities, co-op teachers and readers/writing coaches only provide constructive and encouraging feedback, but do not assign grades. If a home-teacher would like assistance in assigning a grade to their student's writing, the co-op teacher is happy to help with suggestions.
